Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 6, 2026
Clicktivated Video, Inc. ("Clicktivated," "we," "us") provides interactive video technology that lets viewers click, tap or touch items inside a video to learn more. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we share it, and the choices available to you.
This policy covers:
- Our website, clicktivated.com, and any site that links to this policy.
- Our interactive video ads and players (the "Services"), which run on websites and apps operated by publishers, on behalf of advertisers and agencies that are our clients.
Our role. Our role depends on the activity. When our Services run in an advertiser's campaign, we deliver the ad and report results to the advertiser as its service provider (processor). We also keep and use ad data in aggregated and de-identified form for our own analytics, benchmarking and product improvement, and in that case we decide how it is used. For our website and business relationships, we also decide how information is used.
Other sites. The websites and apps where our ads appear, and the pages our ads link to, have their own privacy policies. We do not control them and this policy does not cover them.
1. Information we collect
When you visit our website
- Information you give us, such as your name, company, email and message when you fill out a contact form or email us.
- Usage information, such as pages viewed, referring site, browser type and approximate location derived from IP address, collected through cookies and Google Analytics.
When you see or interact with a Clicktivated video ad
We do not ask viewers for their name, email or other directly identifying information. Our Services collect:
- Ad delivery data: that an ad was requested and displayed, video start, quartiles and completion, and errors.
- Interaction data: which items or hotspots in the video were clicked or tapped, when, and which links were followed. This tells advertisers which parts of a video viewers found interesting.
- Device and technical data: browser and device type, operating system, screen size, full IP address, approximate location (city or region level), and the website or app where the ad appeared.
- Campaign data: campaign, creative and placement identifiers passed to us by the advertiser, agency or ad platform.
- Identifiers: We do not set cookies or use persistent identifiers in our ad tags.
Information from partners
Advertisers and data partners may provide us with campaign information or audience segments used to deliver and measure campaigns. We may also receive aggregated visitation and location-based measurement data from third-party measurement partners, which we use to report campaign results.
2. How we use information
We use information to:
- Deliver interactive video ads and make them work correctly on your device
- Count impressions, views and interactions, and report results to advertisers and agencies
- Show advertisers which moments, items and destinations in their videos drew interest, usually in aggregated form
- Create aggregated or de-identified reports and statistics
- Detect and prevent fraud, invalid traffic and misuse
- Maintain, troubleshoot and improve our technology
- Respond to inquiries and manage client relationships
- Comply with legal obligations
3. How we share information
We share information only as follows:
- Advertisers and agencies whose campaigns you saw receive reporting on ad delivery and interactions, at an aggregated level; we do not give advertisers data that identifies individual viewers.
- Ad platforms and measurement partners, such as demand-side platforms, ad servers and verification vendors used in a campaign, to deliver and measure ads.
- Service providers that host, store and deliver our technology and video (cloud hosting, content delivery and video streaming providers) and analytics providers, under contracts that limit their use of the data.
- Legal and safety: when required by law, or to protect our rights, users or others.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this policy.
- Aggregated or de-identified information, which does not identify you. We do not try to re-identify it.
Sale and sharing. We do not sell or share personal information, as US state privacy laws define those terms. We give advertisers, agencies and measurement partners only aggregated, high-level reporting, such as approximate location and ad interaction results, and we do not give them IP address or device data. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of children under 16.
4. Cookies, tracking technologies and our domains
Our ad tags use scripts, pixels and similar technologies to deliver video, record interactions and report results.
Our ad tags do not set cookies or store persistent identifiers on your device.
Our website uses cookies for basic operation and analytics. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some site features may not work without them.
Domains we use
The following domains are operated by or for Clicktivated and are covered by this policy:
- clicktivated.com: Website
- api.clicktivatedstudio.com: Ad and VAST tag serving, and ad event tracking
- player.clicktivatedstudio.com: Interactive video player and layer
- b-cdn.net (Bunny.net): Video delivery through our CDN provider
5. Your choices
- Browser controls: block or clear cookies, or use private browsing.
- Industry opt-outs: the Digital Advertising Alliance and Network Advertising Initiative let you opt out of interest-based ads from participating companies.
- Mobile devices: reset or limit your advertising ID in your device settings.
- Global Privacy Control: because we do not sell or share personal information, there is nothing to opt out of, and a Global Privacy Control signal does not change how our ad tags work.
- Not interacting: our ads only record clicks and taps if you choose to interact with them.
Because our ad tags do not set cookies or store identifiers, we do not build profiles or link one ad view to another, so there is no ongoing tracking to opt out of. Each ad view is recorded on its own and is never used to target you later.
These choices are specific to the browser or device where you set them.
6. Data retention
We keep event-level ad data for 13 months and then delete it or aggregate it so it no longer relates to an individual device. Aggregated campaign reports may be kept longer. Website contact information is kept as long as needed to respond and maintain the business relationship, or as the law requires.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections for all ad serving and tracking. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children
Our Services are not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and our clients may not use our Services to target ads to children. If you believe a child's information was collected, contact us and we will delete it.
9. International transfers
Clicktivated is based in the United States. Information may be processed in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for these transfers, such as standard contractual clauses.
10. Your privacy rights
United States
Depending on your state of residence (including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and others with comprehensive privacy laws), you may have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect, use and disclose
- Access and receive a copy of your personal information
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your personal information
- Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights
We do not sell or share personal information, as described in section 3, so we do not offer a "Do Not Sell or Share" link. To ask a question or make a request about your information, email privacy@clicktivated.com.
How to make a request. Because our ad Services do not collect names or emails, we may need a device identifier or other details to locate data about you. You or an authorized agent can make a request by emailing privacy@clicktivated.com. Where we hold ad data only on behalf of an advertiser, we may refer you to that advertiser, since it decides how the campaign data is used. We will verify requests as required by law.
Timing and appeals. We will respond within 45 days. If we need more time, we may extend that by up to 45 days and will tell you why. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision, and we will answer your appeal within the time your state's law requires.
California "Shine the Light." California residents may ask once a year for the categories of personal information we disclosed to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes during the previous calendar year, and the names and addresses of those third parties. To make a request, email privacy@clicktivated.com.
European Economic Area, United Kingdom and similar jurisdictions
Where data protection laws such as the GDPR apply, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, and to data portability. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. We rely on legitimate interests to operate and measure ads and our website, and on consent where the law requires it, such as for certain cookies. Where we deliver ads and report results on behalf of an advertiser, that advertiser is the controller and we act as its processor. For our own aggregated and de-identified analytics and for our website and business relationships, we are the controller. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new "Last updated" date, and give additional notice of material changes where required by law.
